hashimoto's and mononucleosis

Is it common to keep getting mono if you have hashimotos? Just asking because I was just diagnosed for the third time in five years with mono. I am 29 yrs old. I have known I have hashi's now for about 2 1/2 years. Anyway, I'm getting sick of this mono stuff, wish it would go away for good. Anyone know if there is a reason people with hashis would get mono more than once? I really don't know too much about hashimoto's. Thank you.

Re: hashimoto's and mononucleosis

Just want to clear up something real quick here. I was going through a lot physically this summer, and as my bf had mono, i was checked to see if I had it as well (didn't know that I had Hashi's yet, and that was causing the symptoms). The doctor that I spoke to said that according to my antibodies, I had had mono in the past, and did not currently have it. I asked him about the possibility of having it twice, and he said you can't "catch" it again, although you can re-activate.

I am still looking to see if there is a connection between Hashi's/autoimmune disorders and recurring mono. My college gives me free access to quite a few scholarly article databases, so I'll see what I can find.
