ok well i'm 19 i was took to the hospital on sept 19 because i was vomiting and had pains in my side. The doctor determined that i had mono, i had blood work done, was put on a iv, and went through a CT scan. I was then put on bedrest for 4 days with restictions of no heavy lifting or contact sports for 6 months and when i went to go back to work i got sick all over again and was put back in the hospital. I was givin a steriod shot to boost my immune system and the doc said it would help with the pain. My symtoms are: swllen thyroid glands on both sides of my neck and a hard gumball size knot on the right side of my neck, i'm very very tired all the time, nausea, vomiting, pain in my left side (spleen), headache, sore throat (swollen tonsiles), short of breath, sharp pain in my left side when i try to take a deep breath, trouble swallowing, low appitite, i'm feeling very depressed, and several other things. Feel free to look on my profile and read the rest. Please i need help or at least support or anything you guys can give me. I will take anything i can get! Please help
Ps sorry about any misspellings i'm on this site via my cell phone so it's not the easiest thing in the world.
When I got infected with mono, I was diagnosed with HIV! but later went back and declared mono was the case.
All of June & July my life was hell. Severe fatigue, sore throat constantly, swollen glands, nothing would help. But I changed my focus instead of being sick, focus on something more happy and productive and August I felt new again, mono was declared out of my system and now back to normal.
A lot of bed rest, water and keeping your mind free will help beat mono. Being down in the dumps worsen your immune system and it wont defend it's counterparts. goodluck!
