Length of Time Before a Relapse?

Hello Everyone,

I contracted mononucleosis back in August of 2011. I was very sick for about a month and half. I had the rare symptoms of an inflamed spleen and liver, along with the slight head cold/sore throat symptoms, and the overall sense of horrible fatigue. Not to mention my whole digestive tract was completely out of whack because there was practically no room left for my organs. Talk about painful!

Anyway, I have been feeling the same tired feeling and upset stomach I had for the first week, and the slight fever of the second week in this past week, and in the last few days I have gotten the head cold/sore throat symptoms again. I have yet to get to the doctor because it is the weekend, but the symptoms are matching up.

My questions are (to those of you who have had symptoms or know someone who has) how long can it be until you relapse (if you do)? How long can it keep happening?

Thanks for any input!

Re: Length of Time Before a Relapse?

hello,
i also contracted mono the same time as you and i had a milder form but would get better than the sore throat and fatigue would come back again and again. i work 12 hour midnight shifts and that does not help. i was told the fatigue and some symptoms could last for months and hang in there. i would consult your doctor as you may have another virus and your immunine system is just run down from the mono like mine was. i feel your pain about all of this. hang in there.
