My name is Shirley and I have had MS since June 24 1998 When I had a stroke so they said but it was all a part of MS just my begining. I have Brain lesions. I have gone through loss of memory, speech and just the little pain in the butt things that come along with MS. But Just recently these past few weeks. My head has felt as if it is riding the waves of an ocean. Blocked as I go under the water then my ears open up as I rise above it. The sounds I hear so clear and that drove me crazy now are a bit muffled like not clear anymore. Like somthing else is going on in my brain. I shake my head back and forth to kind of clear the air so to speak but I know this does not work. Thou I have had vertigo before this is just different. I cant explain it. So if anyone feels like there in the ocean it would be nice to know that I can chalk this up as a new feeling I have to deal with... By the way this is a very nice place to come and learn and chat where everybody may not know your name but they know how you feel ... Thank great site..

I have never had the feeling you are talking about, but many MS symptoms are so variable. I would see your doc.
Do you think it could be some sort of sinus problem? I have MS as well as an immune deficiency problem. I get frequent sinus infections and sometimes I feel like my whole head is in a giant bell..... This might be the same feeling. When the sinus problems/allergy problems are cleared, my head and hearing are normal again.
When I was first diagnosed with MS an older gentleman told me to NOT always chalk everything up to the MS. We are still humans that fall prey to normal everyday problems. It was good advice for me.

Hi Shirl,
You just got some excellent advice from Penny, especially the above.

I can't help you about your symptoms from personal experience as I don't have MS myself - my daughter and mother have it. I just wanted to welcome you and send you my best wishes for improved health.
