The Wait...

I had my MRI done on Thursday of last week and the wait is the hardest thing to me...I am hoping that it is nothing, but wanting answers to why my vision is messed up...(no reason for it, I do wear glasses for working on the computer) I woke up this morning and I swear it took my 30 minutes to focus on things...I am tired of burning my mouth with food, I can't feel whether my shower water is too hot until it is too late...the dropping of things, the frequent mis-spelling of words...I used to be about an 80 WPM typist and now I am doing good to do 40 and that is with stopping and seeing what I have mis-typed.

Ladies, do you think that this could all just be in my head from stress? My stress level was tremenodous a couple of years ago, but since my Mom's death it has eased up...the only real stress that I have is $$ issues, with quitting my job last year and then coming back this past year...I make really good $$ but when I took a leave it took its toll on my pocket book...I have no energy for anything (my husband is getting upset in that department, but doesn't put too much stress on my about that).

I just can't believe that this is all in my head...

how long does it ususally take to get your results from an MRI, I did have it with contrast...

Thank you again, to all that can put things in perpective.
Bec

Re: The Wait...

Hi Bec,

The wait for the results will drive you crazy!

What I did was waited about 4 business days, then I called my doctor's office to get the results. It seems as though there is no urgency for the medical professionals to let you know how your life is going to turn out, unless it is a life or death situation.

You could try calling your doctor today to see if results are in. That is what I would do if you feel like you could climb the walls with this waiting.

Let us know how you make out!

All the best,
Chrissy

p.s. I'm sure nobody on this board thinks that this is all in your head. You know your body best. If something isn't right, you know it!

Re: The Wait...

Hi Bec:

I would call your doctor's office today to get the results. I had my MRI results back in one day. Actually, I called the radiologist where I had the MRI done and they faxed my results to me. I am like you, waiting for a definite answer. I am scheduled for two more tests, an EMG and spinal tap. More tests and more waiting. This is very frustrating. Please let me know how your MRI turns out.

Take care.

K Wilson

I think this is a great suggestion. Then you are actually getting the report straight from the horse's mouth rather than just an interpretation by your doctor (althought interpretation is often needed).

I believe you. I know that stress can cause a lot of symptoms, but yours seem beyond that. Please let us know the outcome.

Take some deep breaths.

Best wishes,
Julie

Re: The Wait...

Well, I just got my results, I guess it is all in my head...now I just need to pull myself up and go on with my life...the report stated:
Sagittal T1, axial DWI, FLAIR, T! and T2 weighted images were obtained, after 20 cc. Magnevist, axial and coronal T1 weighted images were performed.

The midline structures are normal. THe lateral ventricles are normal in size and are symmetrical and midline. THe third and fourth ventricles are normal. No focal abnormal signal in the brain is present. The seventh and eighth nerve complexes are normal. Flow voids in the carotid arteries and basilar artery are normal.

Following Magnevist, no enhancing lesions are present.

Impression: Negative MRI examinnation of the brain.

YEAH...I guess it has just been my stress level...and I guess I truely just need to get my mind of off everything...

Thank you , Thank you , Thank you all...

Prayers for everyone...
Bec
