new here - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

hi. i'm new to this board and have all sorts of questions. i haven't been dx with ms but my neuro suspects i may have it. for the past few days my left leg and foot have been tingling, numb, cold, sharp stabbing pains and difficult to move. my foot feels like a big blob on the end of my leg. does this sound familiar to anyone? i'm seeing my family dr in 2 days and my neuro on dec. 16.
If anyone has experienced this is there any medication that you can take to relieve these symptoms? I would appreciate hearing from anyone who can offer any insight to this very frustrating problem.

P.S. (my cousin has relapsing-remitting and has several permanent disabilities from the ms.)

Welcome to the forum. Sorry I missed your post earlier. I couldn't get onto these boards for a couple of days earlier this week and am finally catching up to some of the posts.

I don't have MS myself, so I'm sorry I can't really answer your questions from a personal perspective. My 24 year old daughter and my mother have MS.

I hope you stick around and glean from other people here.

I know how stressed out you can be. I started showing symptoms of MS when I was 16 but wasn't dx untill I was 18. The symptoms you describe sound similar to mine, but keep in mind that this disease can be really different for different people. I hope the best for you and I'm here if you need to talk.

I had the same symptoms, the only way to find out for sure is to have a MRI as soon as possible, My ms is moving very quickly, do not let them do a spinal tap, they can go either way. The best test I had was a MRI Spec a new test done in Orlando. Good luck god bless.
