Do I have MS?

Board,

I am very stressed and feel I'm at my wit's end, no suicidal
thoughts, I just don't know where to turn. I'm posting on this board
for advice.

Over the past 6-9 months I have been getting periodic numbness and
tingling at the back of my head when I sleep. Typically when I slept
on the couch, my head would be resting on the hard arm of the couch.
During this time I noticed myself getting very tired during the day
while I was getting 8+ hours of sleep. I would get periodic
headaches, but nothing too severe. I was a smoker at that time.

About 3 months ago I quit smoking and came down with Pneumonia. The
Pneumonia disappeared and then I started having severe chest pains, I
went to the ER twice thinking I was having heart attacks. The pain
weren't caused by heart attacks. I have been working very closely
with my doctor and he sent me to a cardiologist for a stress test.
The stress test went well and the Doctor told me it wasn't a heart
problem. I was diagnosed with chostrocondritis (inflamation of the
muscles in the rib cage). After that I started getting bad gas after
eating, not just the embarrasing gas but gas that would roll up into
my chest causing more severe chest pains. My doctor put me on
Protonix for the stomach gas and gave me Meteprolol for the
chostrocondritis. I have since had an Endoscopy where they took a
biopsy to check for Pylori. I'm waiting for the test results.

As you can probably tell, during all of this I have been very
stressed and now I'm very concerned that other symptoms of the stress
may be symptoms of MS. I have an appointment with my doctor to start
the process of checking for this, but I wanted to post my symptoms
and get the boards opinions and advice.

I'm constantly getting small transient pains all over by body, my
head, my feet, my stomach... I had been getting palpatiations on the
tops of my shoulders, but they have disappeared. Sometimes it takes
a minute for me to focus on something and I'm constantly afraid of
what these symptoms might mean. CONSTANTLY. The symptoms disappear
for a while after I work out (ride the stationary bike for 30 minutes
and stretch).

My question to the board is could these symptoms be stressed related
that are exhaserbated by my constant worry of the situation?

Is there any possibility that this isn't MS?

Thank you in advance for any advice and opinions.

What would you do if you were me?

Thanks,

Kevin

Re: Do I have MS?

Hi Kevin,
first know that you are not alone. I feel your pain, I am going through the same process and am still waiting to find out. MS, I am learning is a very complicated disease. Some of the symptoms you describe could be either. Worrying will only make it worse. I know that is easier said than done because that's all I seem to do. Hopefully your doctors will move quickly so you will have an answer regardless!
Good luck, Jacqui
