update from the nutty one

well just got back from doc. she said she thinks i have two seprate problems. she said my nose numbness , eye problems (she noticed one of my eyes keeps drifting ?) and all my odd aches and pains and shock things are not related to my thyroid and said as a last ditch to try this migraine med (midrin) when the symptoms start again and if this does not work i will have to see a neurologist.

she said my thyroid ultrasound came back with many nodules but one was very large and they want me to see endocrinlogist (sp) but not to worry it was probably ok.

yhea pretty much back to square 1

Re: update from the nutty one

I Hope The Midrin Helps For You. In The Begining They Gave It To Me For The Headaches. It Didn't Work. But With What Ever Is Going On Give It A Try. If The Problem Is Still There In 4 Or 5 Days Call Back And Let Them Know. That Is Not One Of Those Drugs That You Have To Build Up In Your System, I Took Mine As Needed. Good-luck- And Wishing You Good Health And Happy Holidays

Re: update from the nutty one

With nodules on your thyroid...I think I would go to a doctor that doesn't say not to worry about it. Nodules usually grow on the thyroid from an overactive thyroid. I have three nodules on my thyroid, and I have hypothyroid and take synthroid. Another thing, any time there is a growth on your body like that, it should be biopsied. Get your blood checked for hypothyroid.

Re: update from the nutty one

Brittle or Really dry hair. Dry skin sounds like the thyroid to me. My father-in-law had the same problem. But his eyebrows would fall out at the end of them he had none and they would grow really long at the front. Sounds weird but they did. He constantly had a problem with his weigh (360). Have they notice an water retention with the weight, He has to take a fluid pill twice dailey to keep the fluid off of his heart. He's even gone into the hospital a couple of times for it and they would get 40- 60lbs. of fluid off of him. Just something to look into. Good-luck

Re: update from the nutty one

I think getting tested for Diabetes is a good idea too. Don't settle for one test...usually takes many tests. I have type 1 diabetes and thyroid problems,,,so I experience all that you have written here...my hair is FINE, and my skin is really dry...it always has been...when I was little I woudl hide my hands behind my back because I was so embarrased of them .. the dryness, and I thought they were ugly..lol..now I don't care. Nothing I can do about it,,,lotion is only a temporary fix, and in the winter my hands just crack..good luck to you!

Re: update from the nutty one

yes i do have fluid retention. it makes me bannas especially during my menstural time. i can buy pants to fit cause my gut holds so much water but my rear is not constant so i either have to get pants that fall down or ones that i cant breath in. also have it on my ankels by the end of day my socks are about to explode when i take them off there is a one inch indention where they stop. summer is the only relief i get cause i sweat, i lose 20 lbs of my weight in the summer.

my eyebrows are scare now too , but yes some are very long and curl.

what is your dad hypo or hyper. my blood work keeps coming back ok though. is it possible for your blood work to come back different at different times like having it in the morning opposed to late afternoon or before period then after?

Re: update from the nutty one

i have been tested for diabetes and i have a home tester (husband is) so i check every now and then just to make sure. my skin is the worse maybe not so noticable by looking except for the occasionall breakout of cyst like acne. my skin is just real thick like and dull feels horrible so you know what i do i use nair or some other hair remover every other week . i put it on my face for 3 minutes and rinse it off that takes off all the excess skin cells and stops these cyst like acne (nothing in them just raised thick skin) crazy i know but nothing else works. the rest of skin is horrible when i get in the shower i can take my nails and gently run over my skin and it will come off in sheets. it is totally grossing me out i dont use nair on that LOL

Re: update from the nutty one

Wow, I didn't know that Nair would take off dead skin cells. Interesting...I would be afraid that I would get it in my hair or my eyebrows. I have problems with acne too, and I get the big ones sometimes too, but I have noticed it has a lot to do with diet. Helps if I don't eat chocolate. I use a really soft baby soap (johnsons liquid soap), and then a face scrub for exfoliation. My skin stays pretty clear with that, and occaisonally a cottonball with alcohol. Don't do that too much though because it will dry out the skin if you do. Also, a humidifier in your bedroom is great for the skin. Try some of these ideas, hopefully they will help you. I think the humidifier would soften your skin up. xxoxooxxo

Hi,
I guess I am lucky in a way,I have really oily skin so I don't have the dry prob. The only thing good about being oily is you don't get many wrinkles, lol. My aunt has dry skin,I know it sounds gross, but she will put crisco on her hands. She said it works.
Wish you well,Dessell

Re: update from the nutty one

lol.. enjoyed your post. I have mostly crowns in my mouth, but there is one tooth that bothers me occasionally, and it is a crown tooth. Im very sensitive to cold water too. All this time, I never realized that MS could be the blame for that unusual pain I get on the right side of my mouth. The dentist said there is nothing wrong there. I'm one of those people that by the time I get numbed up in the mouth, I'm home and the drilling has already been done. Good luck on your teeth ...xoxoxoxoxo
