HELLO YOU GUY'S,
I'M BACK AGAIN, JUST WONDERING IF ANY BODY ELSE DIAGNOSED WITH (MS) HAS NOTICE THAT THERE B-12 LEVELS ARE ELEVATED? MINE ARE AT 1566, WHEN THE PHRIPHAL RANGE IS 211 TO 911. IS THIS COMMON WITH SOME OF US? I DON'T TAKE VITAMINS EVERYDAY SO THIS IS SOMETHING THAT MY BODY IS PRODUCING ON IT'S OWN.
Hi Anseay,
Are you officially diagnosed with MS? High vitamin B levels can cause very similar symptoms as MS. In fact, when trying to find out what is causing MS-type symptoms, one of the first tests a doctor will do is Vitamin B levels to rule that out. If you do have MS for sure, then you need to talk to your doc about what can be done about the B levels being too high because they probably increase your symptoms.
You might be right about the B12 - not sure. I know that excess B6 can cause neuropathy (and one or two more of the B vitamins.) I wonder if a person's B12 is elevated if other B levels are, too..?
Yes, I'm an MS"ER and have been on rebif treatment since august. 44mcg's 3x week.
7 brain leisons, oct test shows damage to the left optic nerve. Spinals clear but abnormal. (what ever that means) No leisons on the c & l spine. Headaches, tremors, balance, depth perseption (hard time walking in the dark ). nerve ending on the arms deterating, causing the burning sinsation, spastics in really werid places. There's more but the bottom line I walked around with a diary for almost 1 1/2 years before getting diagnosed.
What ever is going on with my b-12 it's doing it on it's own. I go to my new neurogoist on January 6, and the gp on the January 7.
