My first symptom was numbness. I was lying in bed, nursing my daughter. When I got up, I realized my right torso was numb. I thought it had fallen asleep (maybe from lying on it. After 3 days, the numbness hadn't gone away and I went to my PCP. She ran some bloodwork, which came back clear. The next day, my legs and feet (both sides) went numb and I felt like I had a band around my middle. It was hard to walk b/c my legs felt tingly and numb. That started in September 2004, and I was dx Dec 20, 2004. So far, frequent headaches and continued numbness is all I'vbe had to deal with. I wish you the best,
Heather

My first symptom was ON and then last week my left arm went numb and then I had to got o the hospital for 4 days and know i am getting off other predisone treatment finally. My arm has not came back completly it is really annoying. they have not put me on any meds yet for the MS. They are waiting I guess for another attack. I don;t understand it but I guess that the doctor knows what he is talking about.

I have not even been to a neurologist yet but I have been to my Primary Care Dr. about 7 times last year. My first weird episode was when I was driving home about two years ago. I had a creepy crawling feeling that went up from the back of my neck, acorss my face and into my scalp. This continued on and off for a couple of weeks. After that I was just left with a dull pain above my left eyebrow. Several months later I started having pain in my jaw just below my ear. My ear also ached and it felt like I had an ear infection. I took some antbiotics and everything seemed to get better. Several weeks later the pain came back, it also seemed to bother my throat. Getting paranoid I might have throat cancer I had a CT down of my neck and throat region. Everything came back clear except one of my lymph nodes was swollen but thet did not see anything that could be causing it. Had a lot of blood work done and everything came back normal. The pain in my jaw never completely went away. Saw an ENT (ear nose throat) doc and he said he didn't see anything that could be causing it. In SEptember 2004, I started having pains in almost all of my joints. Even had popping and clicking noises so I thought I might have Ruemotoid Arthritis. Went back to the Dr. and was tested for RA, Lupus, and everything came back normal. I don't know if I was tested for Lyme disease though. The symptoms in my joints slowly disappeared. The area in my jaw below my ear still feels funny (hard to describe) Almost like a tight feeling when I turn my head. The lastest symptom is like a numbness, not totally numb but a weird feeling in my left leg. Also have some unexplained itching every now and then in my leg. I am going back to the Primary Care Dr. and see if they checked for lyme disease and if they did I am going to ask to be referred to a Nuerologist. Has anyone had joint pain that felt like arthritis (tightness in joints, soreness, popping clicking)
Hello,
My first bout was in 95',numb left arm and hand,blurry vision,stiff neck,slurred speach.I was 25 then and I thought I had a stroke or heart attack,lol,failed EVP then,but never went back to doc,it went away,came and went mildly until I guess 5 years ago now when I could'nt get out of bed from pain.
hi i just stumbled across your boards and just had to ask a question. i am a 38 year old woman i have pain all over my body i was convinced it was ms but now am not sure. i dont have numbness just pain. i just wanted to know if anyone else started out with just pain? i did have blood work done and everything came back neg except they said epstein barr which i am finding out just about everyone has. and i dont think that woud cause the body aches maybe just my tiredness. any response would be appreciated
~~~nygirl, I am not sure if your pain is associated with MS, but with epstien barr (long term mono), there can be. have you been tested for Lymes?, Good luck to you, & I send my warm wishs for pain free days to all...
i was tested for lyme along with rhumadoides thyroid and just about everything they could test blood for and nothing i guess my next step is to go to a specialist either a neurologist or a rhumatologist.
