| Strange and bizarro new symptom-anyone?
I've had a flare up of whatever I have had wrong with me for the past several years. I've been documenting my symptoms on this board for the past few weeks.
Certain symptoms seem to have improved mildly while new ones emerge. I've been to several neuros and so far no dx-my brain mri is negative and my cervical mri is showing a lesion that one neuro said could be MS-two others have said it looks like a syrinx. Either way, it is not an acute lesion they all agree because it isn't enhancing. I'll be seeing an MS specialist in early March.
So, my latest (and oddly recurrent) symptom is that I feel the urge to sneeze but can't seem to get my brain to carry out the actual task of sneezing. My nose and forehead get the stinging sensation, but I can't seem to progress to the "atchoo" part.
I had this in the past for about a month and most doctors just stared at me in disbelief. At the time, I wasn't seeing a neuro, only an ent and my regular doctor. I'd also had an mri of the brain and sinuses-both negative. I had been taking decongestants because I also had/have headaches with this that feel like sinus congestion. I concluded back then that perhaps I'd taken too many decongestants and dried out my sinuses because once I stopped taking them, the sneeze mechanism eventually got restored. Not so this time-so now I'm assuming this is part of whatever it is that I have going on-perhaps MS or perhaps not. I have all the other symptoms of MS which are exhaustive (and exhausting-so I won't list them...)
Can anyone relate to this insanity?
