Problems with ears - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

Does anyone have problems with their ears. It is very hard to describe the feeling I get at times. Its sort of like you have sensitive ears. Sounds seem magnifed and makes you feel that the sounds you are hearing causes your ear drum to vibrate while your brain sets still.

What about stairs? Any problems there? I work in a two story building. I got down the steps all right, but on coming back up my legs felt weak and shaky.

bingo you could not have discribed it any better about the ears 1 went like that on me for about 4 months then the other 1 went and the first got better only after the tinny amplified noise i went deaf in 1st ear then 2nd,but there both fine now,what are you thinking is wrong??

ok as for the sound,,, yes my ears are very fragile now! i used to loveeee having the music turned clear up,,, i am a singer and have my own karaoke equipment set up in my house,,, i used to be a DJ/KJ but can not stand the noise anymore,, so i no longer do it publicly,, and if my daughter and husband turn it on here,,, i have had enough in about 20 minutes and i make them stop,,, it makes them sad because thats what i loved the most was singing and listening to music and these days i can not stand it. i can not stand sitting in a crowded room either with lots of ppl all talking at once, it makes me go insane!

as for stairs,,, i fell down the stairs in our other home,,, so we moved back into our one level home we had when we got married,,, i can do up them better than i can down,,, i use a cane and it helps alot if i have to go somewhere that has steps,, and no elevator.

gaulty, Not sure what happens with the ears. I have had this for about 4 years now. It comes and goes. Thank God for that I don't think I could stand it everyday. See I haven't been diagnoised with MS. I suspect it. My neuro says no. I do have lesions on the brain and I have balance problems as well. My legs will go weak at times as well as my arms. I have lots of pain especially around the neck and shoulder area. Wednesday I'm going for a series of epidural injections. I know it is just a cover up, but maybe I will feel like getting out of bed. My neuro seems to want to just throw me to the side now. I also have tarlov cyst near the tailbone. She says those don't cause any problems, but I have read they do. For the last 16 years I have been trying to find out the reason behind some of my symptoms and I get this same thing. We can't find anything. The only thing they haven't done to test me for MS is the spinal.

I hope you don't suffer too much with the noises in the ears. I keep saying to myself that I'm not going to let this beat me.

my ears are 100% again now it took about a year for them to get better ,i do have MS, but i know its different for everyone i really dont have a problem with it anytime something goes bad i know its only for a while so its cool maybe im just to laid back about it all lol,there are a lot worse things than MS and i mean a lot worse so dont get all worried about it. all the best im me anytime
