Hi All -

Well, as many of you can relate to, my wife has still not been official DX with MS. She has all of the symptoms, but because her MRIs continue to come back negative, the neurologist has resisted putting her on any medication. OUr doctor has asked that we wait another SIX MONTHS (!) and take the MRI again. Basically, she just wants us to sit around and wait for the disease to get worse. My question to you all is - do you know of any good resources to find out about some clinical trials anywhere in the US that we could look to for more information. I am very concerned that our current doctor's treatment options are too passive, and I am looking to take matters into my own hands by talking with some well known specalists, or studies to help us while the MS is still in the early stages.

Any input would be great.

I don't know much about clinical trials, but even if I did, I doubt your wife could qualify without a definite diagnosis. MS diagnosis is difficult and usually takes several years. 6 months is a reasonable time length between MRIs (if the lesions don't show up now, they won't show up more a few hours later!)

However, if you feel that your doctor isn't satisfactory, do find another, preferable a neurologist with a specialisation in MS, especially if there are no other possible explanations for her symptoms.

I agree with Arraicha,why do you need trials if she is not diagnosed.
You have to find MS specialist-call {removed}. By the way to wait for a appointment in MS center is going to take longer than 6 month.I had to wait for the first consultation 8 month.

There are ways around the system. If you get your GP to set the appointment for you, you can usually get one within the upcoming month.
