Funny!! - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

Hello all,
I know MS is'nt funny,,but sometimes you just have to laugh to keep from crying.I had a funny thing happen to me this morn,I was lying in bed telling stories to my boy when I saw a bug crawling on the wall.I smashed that bug at least 5 times,but it kept moving in circles and it felt hard ,so I thought it may be a tic although out of season.So I grabbed my lighter to burn it,could'nt get a grip on it so I yelled for my hubby,he came in to help,,he looked at me like I was nutts!It was'nt a bug,it was a small hole in the wall where a nail once was,I just laughed and laughed.Eyes can play tricks on ya sometimes!!

lmao that is funny!!!!!! and yes we do gotta laugh about it or we will go insane,,, i laugh about it more than anyone else does around my house tho,, some days i think i see spiders,,, must just be the nerves in the eyes or something.

Hi you two,hope you are both doing well.
I was'nt too happy when I first found out about ms,but after awhile you just settle in and except it.You guys have helped me more than words can express,love to all,Dessell

That has been my daughter's perspective. It was very difficult the first 2 years, but the last 3 have been better because she has learned to accept her MS and live as fully as she can in spite of it.

However, even though she has accepted it, she wages full scale war against it by injecting with Copaxone and getting Tysabri infusions. Even these things she now takes in stride, just considering them a nuisance.

I know this perspective can be difficult for a newbie to MS to comprehend, as their life as they've known it has been shattered. Hang in there! It does get easier to deal with.

Some might wonder where I get off talking about this as I don't have MS myself, but I do suffer daily from Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy, which involves chronic pain due to a malfunction of the autonomic nervous system. I have been through the same cycle myself and am finally reaching the stage of accepting and adapting.

One final thought - finding a good doctor is important!
