Question Relapse question

I was wondering if I am having what would be considered relapses or if the symptoms are not going away enough to be considered ever going in to remission.

Now understanding my symptoms I have been having them for about 4 years. However, for the past almost 10 months I have not ever been symptom free. The ones that are always there are the dizziness, tingling in my feet and the fatigue. The severity comes and goes on a daily basis. The other symptoms however, the shaking in my hands, the double vision etc. may disappear for several weeks at a time only to pop back up.

I know only time will tell, but I was wondering if it sounded like my dizziness is here to stay. My boyfriend would tell you I've always been dizzy, so whats new? We try to keep our humor about things.

I would appreaciate any thoughts anyone has on this.

By the way for whomever reads this, it has helped me a lot to be able to share with everyone and to read what everyone has shared. With the MS I have sometimes felt I was nuts or something and then would read how someone else has gone through the same. It sometimes helps through the tough times. Thanks everyone.

Re: Relapse question

Perhaps you have a form of progressive MS, where some symptoms are relapsing-remitting and others are here to stay. I'm sorry to hear about your condition, and congratulations on handling it with humor.

Re: Relapse question

I always thought that MS was a disease with symptoms and relapses. One Dr. explained to me that there are no symptoms - that there are only attacks and for every new thing going on that there is damage being done to the myelin. My neuro explained to me that there are attacks with residual 'leftovers'. Well, I sure seem to have a lot of leftovers then. Sometimes I think that the Dr.'s aren't really sure of anything. We just have to keep our chins up I guess and get through all the symptoms and inconveniences posed upon us in our daily lives!
