| Re: 1st Cousin died from MS
Hi Dawn,
I hate to say it, but in rare cases, MS can be fatal. But I stress the word rare. A woman in our church passed away last year from MS. Over the years her MS lesions caused her internal organs to fail. Even so, she was in her late 60s. And though she was completely paralyzed the last few years, she maintained a positive attitude and continued living her life to help others. She headed the local MS chapter until the end.
So I do believe the stories of others who have lost loved ones to MS. Although rare, it does happen.
I agree with you that we should all be sensitive to others in not focusing on the possibility of such a terrible outcome. However, I think this poster was just letting us know that part of his concern is that he has a family history of MS.
I like Gaulty's attitude of hoping for the best with MS. We all need to hold onto to hope.
Take care,
Julie
