Dee,
Basically, people got tired of looking at my eerily unmoving right eye and demanded I see an optometrist. The optometrist, after a general exam, started pacing, taking notes, running around like a madman, and went to see if he could push for a sooner neuro appointment. His neurologist friend, after hearing my symptoms, demanded I come to the ER that night rather than waiting for the appointment. So, rather than ignore a doctors wishes, here I am.
As for staying positive... It's not immediately life-threatening, and there's nothing I can do about it, so there's no sense in stressing over it. I'll smile, love, and live just like I did 2 years ago... with one exception. I plan to more actively pursue my dreams.
Speaking of love, there was a ridiculously cute med student in the group that visted me today... and the girl who took my blood at the ER was definitely flirting with me. Maybe I'll even get a few numbers before I'm out of here.
And Jewel and GodChaser, as always, thanks for your support.
Making the best of it,
Jerry
