I greatly appreciate you all, thank you. Just wondering if anyone can shed light on this incredibly annoying condition. It's been going on for a month now, started with occasional legs going numb, didn't notice at first it was when I bent my neck forward. For the past week I have had constant pulsing in my lower back and bending my neck forward causes both legs and arms to go numb. Yesterday I "ran" with my puppy and my entire torso went numb. (Won't be trying that again soon...) I haven't been diagnosed yet, in the process of making an appointment. Whether I have MS or not, I have certainly gained understanding of and compassion for all of you "soldiers" who get up every day and live life, despite the pain and discomfort! Usually L'hermittes sign occurs when there is a lesion present on the spinal cord in the neck or chest region. The lesion can be caused by MS or a few other diseases. It's very annoying, I know, although your's sounds more intense and uncomfortable than mine was. I just had a buzzing feeling down my back and legs whenever I looked down. It's gone away now, after about 6 mos. Hang in there, I know things can be frustrating, try to look on the bright side.

This is a a sign of a lesion on or in the spinal cord....I had one in the c-6 nerve root......fun. I went to Mayo Clinic because it got so bad I could NOT move. I walked out of Mayo...YEAH....I have had MS for 9 years and I know about that lil sign...all the way down the back when you tilt your head...get it checked out right away.....you sound as if you are on the right track....Kahlia
