Gotta vent.....

OK, so last month I went to the neurologist, who sent me to the neuro-opthomologist, who sent me to have an MRI. Last week I went to the gynecologist who sent me to the radiologist for a mammogram, who sent me to my GP, who sent me to the lab for bloodwork. Oh, and the neuro, gyno, and GP all sent me to the pharmacy with new prescriptions. They all claim this is routine, preventative care.

I feel like I am singlehandedly keeping the medical community alive and thriving!! And between insurance and co-pays, I MUST have paid off somebody's Porsche by now!!

Isn't that the truth?!!

This year we actually got a tax refund for the first time in years. Wanna know why? Because our medical expenses were so high! I kid you not. Ridiculous!

I lovingly/heartachingly refer to it as "Death by copay!" haha

I love that !!

Cause I am right there with ya.

Last year I was:

inpatient 7 times for MS
Ongoing physical therapy for months and months
Had a baby-of course high risk ~lol~ which involved so many doctors I can't count and traveling to a hospital weekly that was 2 hours away.
3 rounds of outpatient IV steroids
AND I started Avonex after my baby was born.

Oooooookkkkkk, I have definately paid for someones 3rd or 4th home!

I am very lucky, my husband has a great job and the best private insurance I have ever heard of....but those copays on office visits and medication rack up..fast!

My prescription bills last year totaled over $42,000
yes thats $42,000.

I thank god everyday for my insurance and prescription card.
