I am 22 and 6 months ago I suffered what was diagnosed as a stroke. I completely lost the feeling over the whole of my right side, starting in my hand and spreading up my arm and leg and into my face. I could not move my limbs for the first few days. Gradually over about a month the feeling came back and my walking improved. I am now back to normal, except I get very tired and my right arm and leg ache sometimes.

A cause could not be found for the stroke, but I was told that two separate areas of damage were found on the mri scan.

About a month ago I began to get a shooting pain in my left arm, from my elbow into my fingers. This lasted for about 6 hours and was followed by a burning pain in my left hand and left thigh over the next few days. I also woke up with a very numb left leg, lasting about 10 minutes.

I have now seen a neurologist, who is investigating the possibility of ms I am due to have another mri this week. I know that I have expericed many of the symptoms of ms and I am expecting the diagnosis to be ms. Particularly as I have read that two separate areas of damage seen on an mri scan can diagnose ms. I also recall some double vision a couple of months previously to the original attack, although this only lasted about 5 minutes.

I would really like to hear from anyone else who has been though something similar.
