I was wondering if anybody has taken any drug that helped ease the fatigue? I have an appointment with the doctor today, and I'd love to have a drug suggestion waiting.
Hi marion,
I too would like to know of something that would help with the fatigue ...I'm tired almost all the time. If I don't rest when I'm tired I'm really messed up! I hope you find out about something when you go to the dr. All doctors seem to be a little different about what they prescribe. Good luck.
Hi Marion, I have had vitamin B12 injections, which seemed to work for the first few days but then nothing, so I started taking the B12 suppliment as well every day. I think it has helped me a wee bit but I am also going to ask my Dr to up my injections to 2x month to see if the tiredness improves even more. Someone suggested to try the chinese remedies as they have been using them for all sorts of things and would swear by them also the other possitive side is their all natural products. Hope this helps, take care and lots of sleep!

This is a visit with my PCP. I’ve only been with her for a short time, and have probably only seen her three or four times. All this MS speculation has been going on, and I’m not sure she is “in the loop,”so to speak. This visit is because the neurologist has stopped returning my calls, and I think he believes that the ball is in her (my PCP) court. Meanwhile, she’s been on vacation, and I doubt she knows a thing about it.
Ain’t it awful when you’ve got to pay them AND train them at the same time?!?!?!
Hi Marion...I wanted to share this info with you. My neuro told me about a drug called Provigil which has been used quite a bit to treat fatigue in MS. It was originally intended for treating Narcolepsy, but has been used successfully for MS for a while. It has been mentioned in several articles I have read in the different MS magazines I get. I have not used it myself, but have heard good things about it. Perhaps you can get more info on it on the web or ask your doctor. All the best. Sharon Grace

Marion,
I take provigil...it does help on the moderate and mild days. I am currently taking 200mg. It helps some on the really bad days but doesnt knock it out completely. I have been taking it now for 2 months. It has a 10 hr life so if by 9 I am still feeling ok I dont take it. My mornings are usually good. The way I know how bad the day is going to be is if by 8:00am I am already having symptoms, the day is going to be rough. If not...it is usually a moderate to mild day. Good luck
