Folks, you've already been kind enough to respond to my questions about LP, thank you, you don't need to respond again. I'm very good at staying calm about things right up until they happen. I only freak out at the last minute as a general rule - and it is almost the last minute now! So I'm venting my anxiety, hope I can leave it right here. I'm taking the whole day off tomorrow to try to avoid stress. Thank you all again, will try to remain calm!
Lilc, sweetie it's going to be ok. I had my LP done in 20 mins. They will numb the area and just be as still as possible. I was told to lay flat for 3-6 hrs. I was already admitted to the hospital when it was done, that may have been why... Besides the area being sore for a few days I was fine. That was on June 9th, 2005.
good Luck LiLC,
I probably will be doing the LP soon as well. I think you should get a special badge on completion like they used to do for girl guides (that's girl scouts but I'm Canadian Lol) Seriously I hope you get some good meds and remember to breathe that always helps. I'll keep you in my prayers tonight.

Hey, both of you angels, how you doing, kchs1? Kelli, are you staying cool? Made my follow-up appt for results, a week from Friday. Hope I can get something out of the neuro tomorrow about the EPs! But the best thing about today is I got my tickets in the mail for Megafest!!!
When are you having the LP done? Let us know!!! You will be in my prayers. If my test come back negative that I am having on Friday then I have to have one. Anxious to hear how it goes. Hand it over to the Lord, he will take care of you!!!
To ALL of you Angels, THANK YOU! I will fall asleep praying for each of you.
I'm in EDT (Eastern time zone), 11:00 am appt.
You are all such precious gifts to me.
Just wanted to say it is not as bad as you beleive. I had two attempts by my dr which didnt work because the bottom of my spine curves. I then had it done using exray to guide the dr and that was over before i thought it began. I even said to my dr...is that it? Itwas painless and nothing at all as i had thought. Good luck and dont worry.
I had mine adminstered by an intern! But kchs1 is right -- the local they give you makes it pretty painless. Just remain still and calm and it will all be over. The spinal fluid is clear so you see anything "icky!"
