Hi
Has anyone experience chest pain or tightness with m.s ? Six weeks ago -this is what happened. I was having a normal day ,and while sitting at the table, I very suddenly had pain in my chest ( more like someone was pushing on it from the outside ) and got extremely lightheaded. I stayed that way for most of the day, I think and saw my doctor the next day. He said it was acid reflux, with esophageal spasm. Well, none of the treatment for that seems to have changed anything. I never really had chest pain again after that first episode, but my other symptoms have worsened over the past weeks. I have stayed continously lightheaded and the worst thing about that for me is that I feel like I'm in a fog-I can't concentrate and I'm forgetful. In the past two weeks or so, something is happening with my circulation -it started in my arms, but now its in my legs as well. It's like the circulation is getting cut off . If i'm not in constant movement, my feet turn blue and my skin is really spotted on my legs and hands. I 've been having little shock feelings also. I think what's gotten the worst , is what seems to be like muscle spasms or tightening in my back , neck , arms and somewhere in my stomach area. It's like they aren't relaxing. In fact, it's been harder for my to type this because my hands are clamped up, and i'm really twitchy. I had an ekg and both that and my pulse rate are good. I've been exhausted, but do you think maybe this is more of an anxiety issue? I haven't had any problems with my eyes. Please , if you have anything to respond with- good or bad. Thanks
It sounds like you are going through the same things I went through and continue to go through! I had all of the same symptoms...chest pain, numbness, pins and needles, dizzy, feel like there is a pressure on my head at times, etc...........
I can't really say what is causing it for me or for yourself but I have been told....Oh it's anxiety, Oh it's an ear infection, oh it's this....oh it's that! I have had numerous tests done from all sorts of specialists and even an MRI but nothing is showing up. I asked the doctor how long can this continue..these bad feelings are interfering with my life now. He said eventually I will have to accept it as being normal....
Ummm i don't think so.....Keep searching until you are satisfied that you found out what is causing all the symptoms. I will not stop until I am comfortable with an answer...this is not normal for me and I will not accept it so neither should you. I find doctors are so easy to dismiss a person at times...with no explanation!
Sorry...feel like I am venting but anyhow....know that you are not the only one going through the same thing!
Thanks Ruth,
Maybe we can keep each other informed, if one of us gets an actual diagnosis.I have tried looking into vitamin deficiences (among a dozen other things)but I figured I would start with the easiest things first, and since it can't hurt I started taking vit B and magnesium supplements-I'll let you know if I notice a difference.Apparently many vitamin deficiences don't even show up when they test your blood for them-and some can cause many of these same symptoms.Just in case you didn't know-thought I would tell you.
You are the first one that has actually told their symptoms and I have the same exact thing. I have told my neurologist (two now and I am working on my third one but this one is suppose to be a specialist) and they act like that my feet and hands turning blue is not a problem. I also experienced the twitching the other day in my hands and feet. My daughters seen it and said, no way you are doing that, and I explained no I am not. It really gets depressing when, not even doctors, can tell you what is wrong with you. As far as the lightheadedness, I have this it seems like 24/7. I guess I am growing accustomed to it. But we shouldn't have to. I just went for another MRI, with and without contrast, Evoked potential test, and bloodwork and was told everything was normal. Even the nurse doing the evoked potential test seen that I was having difficulty and seen my feet and hands turning blue and twitching. She said there is something definitely wrong. But yet I get a call that all my test are normal and the neurologist wanted to know where I wanted to go from here. I said well for starters I would like to find a competent doctor that can tell me what is wrong with me and not act like I am making this up. So he referred me to a MS specialist and Duke University Medical Center. I hope I get some answers from him but I am not getting my hopes up. I'm sorry that you are having these problems too. Hopefully, you too will find a competent doctor. Good luck!!!
