Numb leg

My left leg goes numb in different areas and every now and then the whole leg. It can be numb for a few hous then feel better. I've had a lumbar and cervcal Mri- neither is causing it. I usually have weak legs and tingling, but this whole leg numbness on and off for a few weeks I haven't had before. Does anyone get numbness this way. was dx. with MS 12 years ago. Thanks.

Re: Numb leg

Hi there, Yes! I know what you mean. I get this a lot and what a pain it is too. I'm just back from a break where I was on the bike with my family quite a bit and found I had to keep comming off because my left leg from the knee up was going numb and lasted the rest of the day & night.

It always seems to be my left leg that goes numb and can do so at any time not just when i'm on the bike. Just lately i've even been wakening up with it.

Just last week I was woken up with this tightening sensation, when I tried to turn I found my leg did'nt want to come along so I had to get the hubby to help turn me over. My leg just felt so heavy and dead. I wasn't even lying on it so that wasnt the cause.

My right leg gets this numbish feeling from the knee up quite often too when walking but not nearly as often as the left.

I find that if I ignore it, it does'nt go away but it does helps me stop worrying about it.

Re: Numb leg

Donnalynne- Thanks- so I guess this is normal. Its just never been like this. I have a quad cane now but usually I don't need it, but its scary because I was fine before I went to the dentist the other day and when I left I had a hard time getting to my car. You just never know when its going to hit ya know.

Re: Numb leg

Hi again, I'm sorry your having a bad time with the leg thing, but please try to remember it can always be worse. So make the most of what you can do and as I always say try to find the funny side of everything that happens. I do this, although it's not always easy but it does help and anyway you may well find that this is as bad as it will get. Keep smiling and you'll be great, take lots of care. Donnalynne xxxxxxxx
