please some advice

I am not diagnosed with definate anything yet, but "possible MS" so I'm looking for a possible over the counter treatment for dizzyness. Today I seem not to be able to walk more than a few steps without falling, and my niegbor wan't to take me out shopping with my little girl later. I tried dramimine on my GPs suggestion, and it has helped with the nasua, but not with the falling. There may be nothing that can help over the counter, but I haven't made it out of the house in a week and am starting to go stir crazy. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: please some advice

I have been told the dizziness is due to inflammation along certain nerve pathways...I use Advil to take care of that and it helps. Advil plus Antivert (by prescription - not too expensive) ALWAYS helps me!

Re: please some advice

Rachael88,

KelliD is right. I have severe dizziness and I take advil and meclizine and it does help. Meclizine is now available over the counter. Try it. It won't take it completely away but it does help. Good luck!!!

Re: please some advice

what is meclizine? do I ask the phamacist for it? I'm in alot of pain most of the time and take tylenol because it doesn't interact with my meds for colitis. I'm not to take nsaids unless my gastro guy ok's it, because I'm already on a kind that sort of coats the intestinal tract. I have asked him if these other symptoms could be caused by it, because of not absorbingnutrients properly, but he did a blood work up for that and right now the colitis is under control. If you know what class of med myclezine is it would help so that I can bother him and ask if it's ok to use.(and when I say bother its just because he's very good but also very busy, very good doc!)thank you!
