Knee Problems

Does anyone have this problem? My knees at times feel like there is something crawling around in them. It feels weird!!! Feels like a worm just squirming around in there. Sometimes it even feels like my leg might bend the wrong way!! It's hard to describe!! Anxious to here if anyone has had this problem.

Re: Knee Problems

Hi, I don't feel the worms you are describing, but I do have a constant sensation of a very big and tight rubber band around my knees. I think they call that the "girdle sensation". They also buckle on a regular basis.

Re: Knee Problems

KatieM,

Thanks for your reply. I don't feel the bandlike feeling, just the weird sensation that something is moving in my knee. Thank you for your response.

Re: Knee Problems

Hi Shellymay
Just read your post about the problems you have with your knee and I have the same but thought I was going mad to describe the feeling that your knee is going to bend the wrong way sounded daft. Mine has got worse over the last few months and now feels so weak that I use a stick at times as I don't trust that my knee will hold. I can understand the feelings you have about the crawling feelings I get these mainly in my left foot but also up most of my leg, it is horrid. The MS nurses have precribed tablets, Gabapentin, used for treating epilepsy and these seem to help.

Hope it eases soon.

Re: Knee Problems

Hoobie,

Thank you sooooo much for your reply. I hadn't heard of anyone else having this symptom. Have you been diagnosed with MS? I have not, but I go see a specialist on August 23, 2005. All my test are coming back negative when I know something is wrong. I can't thank you enough for responding to me. You said that you are on Gabapentin for this. I am glad that it is helping. I have tried to not go on any medication until a doctor can definitely tell me what is wrong with me. I don't want to mask anything else. I hope that you are feeling fine and thank you for your concern.
