hair dye not a good idea?

this is probably a dumb question, but my beautician, a personal friend of mine, wants to dye my hair tomorrow, but I am scheduled for another brain MRI soon...this time with contrast/dye and I was wondering if it is possible that the hair dye could somehow seep into my head and show on the MRI? I'm not crazy about the hair dye thing anyway, but didn't know if I should even consider it. Silly question?

Re: hair dye not a good idea?

I don't think it is a silly question, especially considering how difficult it can be to get answers - you don't want to "mess up" a test! My bet is that hair dye can't interfere with your MRI. The contrast agent isn't actually a dye, either, as I understand it. But for your peace of mind do call your doctor and ask. Now if you really don't want to dye your hair just say no thank you!
