| Re: Where to now?
For what my opinion is worht (and it isn't worth much) --- it seems that Fibromyalgia mimics MS almost identical with the exception that it does not progress and MS is "generally" progressive (except in the case of benign MS)
My first MRI - a zillion years ago was perfectly normal and yet I was so sick. Then the next year I had lesions and still have lesions many years later. I was dx with Fibro and my Rheumy still thinks I have Fibro but that you can also have both Fibro and MS. I have had 1 Neuro dx me with MS but he didn't "specialize" in MS and my current Neuro is not sure. She wants me to have another LP.
Also - you can have MS with no lesions that show up at all on an MRI - that is possible from what I have read.
I do understand your frustration but I quickly went from the unknown to "possible MS" and have never been fully dx with MS - since doctors disagree.
It is awful when you feel sick and know without doubt that you are very sick but have no proof. Problem is, medical science - the ability to test for many things is just not there yet - meaning we don't have all the tools yet available (imho) to test for all possibilities. I do know that many years ago, before we had good medical diagnostic equipment - many, many people with MS were labelled and mentally ill and placed in sanitariums !!! Now, they have machines that can show much of the damage that happens but still it is not a catch all in finding everything.
Hope I am not rambling too much. That is just my thoughts about your situations so hang on. If you know you are sick then don't let anyone convince you that you are imagining it - you know your own bodies. I used to second guess myself but never anymore - it is all too real.
Please hang on !!!
