Side effects from CRAB meds - HELP! - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

Hi Everybody - hope you are all doing ok. I am not today. I started Rebif eight months ago and lately feel like side effects are getting extreme. I know i can expect "flu-like" symptoms but the day after my shot, I feel like I am on fire head to toe, nauseous, diarreah (sp?) muscle pain. I am starting to think I am not tolerating the Rebif well. I switched from Avonex and I know the Rebif is a much stronger dose, but its making me feel worse! I am going to call my neuro tomorrow and run it by him. Have any of you had a bad reaction to your meds like this? I wonder if the high dose is throwing my immune system into a tizzy? Hi SG...calling your neuro is an excellent start. For what it's worth, I have been using Avonex going on two years. I was told that the side effects could be harsh in the beginning, but would get better with time...and then maybe be really bad again for a while. And that is exactly how it has worked out.

I know that doesn't make you *feel* any better physically...but maybe it's normal with Rebif? Have you called a pharmacist? They should be able to tell you about the course of the drug's side effects...
