| Curious11 and others: It's YOUR right!
Hi, I just wanted to mention to everyone that not only is it your right to ask questions of your doctors and specialists, it's your right to have those written reports and test results! You can have the MRIs and CTscans in your posession, etc. When I am sent for a blood test, I tell them I want a copy of it sent to me, as well. I have my neurologist send to me a copy of the reports he makes to the PTP and work comp. I have the PTP give me copies of his reports. I have my psychologist, provided by work comp, bless them, give me copies of reports she sends in. I have my MRIs and Ctscan right here in my home. With copies of the radiologist findings. So, go to the source, who did the lab work on the CSF and request a copy of their findings sent to your home address. Next time, you can even take in a stamped, addressed envelope if you want. It feels weird at first, but after awhile, you feel very empowered. BEACHLOVER, you will feel empowered to have all of that information and it will help you and everyone to ask intelligent questions and keep journals and notes. Many, many people have saved their own lives and those of their loved ones because they did research, asked questions and presented those to the doctors and pushed for tests and treatments!!
Heck, we have to go to so many drs all the time, we might as well make it fun!
I believe that my neurologist was impressed with my handle on my situation and wrote that in his report. Maybe some drs are insecure, but they need to build a bridge and get over it! ha!
As curious11 says, it's OUR Bodies!!
I only had one dr., an ENT who was afraid to send me his report until the PTP had seen it first. I just went with the flow and eventually got the written report after I saw the PTP.
Hope this helps!
