Insomina from Avonex? - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

I just started on avonex last week (first dose on Wednesday night) and since then I have had the hardest time sleeping. I never have had a problem with this ever. I am wondering if it is yet another side effect of the medicine? Any of you experience this?

hi jenny...i'm jennifer...and yes, the drug CAN cause insomnia. i take copaxone now because i couldn't take the side effects of the avonex. to hard on me, flu like symptoms etc. call your doc and beg for some mild sleeping pills. my doc gave them to me so i could sleep through the side affects of the shot. ( yea right!) hope it works out for ya...and get some sleep!!!!
