So I had my 3 month appt. on Friday. Basically he told me to keep on doing what I'm doing and that no news is good news in this business. He told me to stick out the next 2 solumedrol infusions so that I can say I took that route and see where we should go from there. I get the impression that he wants me to do some sort of chemo treatment. He had mentioned it a few months back, but then when I went up to the MS clinic in Boston they started me on this solumedrol regimine, I guess to see where that gets me. I am going back up to the MS clinic next month for a follow up appt. so we will see what they have to say about my progress or lack there of since the solumedrol. I told my neuro how I dreed the solumedrol now and that it leaves me feeling worse off than I started. He suggested I call Boston and see if they can add in a rx for a prednisone taper. To be honest, I would rather just feel like crap than take the prednisone. That taper was the worst! It left me feeling bloated, massive heartburn, and just overall unpleasant. I think I will tough out the solumedrol for the last 2 infusions!

On another note... last visit my neuro walked into the room with a shaved head! He normally had a thick head of very nice brown hair. So my mom joked with him about losing a bet or something. We summized he may be having problems with the wife because he returned one of my phone calls at like 9:30pm from his office one night. Come to find out, through his secretary that we are very close too, he had a lump on his neck, brushed it off, and it turned out to me lymphoma. He has been undergoing chemo for the past few months and had to shave his head because of the hair loss. His secretary said he never even missed a day of work. It just kind of hit home to me. I remember wondering how it felt to have to tell a patient their diagnosis with all the debiliating neurological disease he must be presented with. And come to find out, just because he has MD after his name, he's not invincible. So he underwent the chemo and rid all the cancer from his body, thankfully.
