Are there any side affects associated with arebif, such as those with Avonex?

yes pretty much exactly the same side effects can happen with rebif as avonex... it is the same med (Interferon beta-1a)
just injected different and at a higher dose..

Curly100 - punkdizzle is exactly right! If you have all the flu-like side effects from Avonex, you will more than likely have those symptoms with Rebif. And since Rebif is a much higher dose than Avonex, it could get worse. Chemically, they are the same. Also, both these drugs can adversely affect your liver, so it is important if you are on either one to get blood tests done every three months to check your liver function. Best of luck!

I just started rebif about a month ago and so far i HATE it.. I wake up in the middle of the nights freezing and cant find any way to get warm. I shake so badly that i end up giving myself a headache. I dont know what other meds I can do anymore considering i have used just about every one of them i think that has been offered. I actually feel better when i dont take the shots but am afraid what would happen if i didnt take them.

I went to my Nero Monday, she said stay on Avonex, I listen to her. Do not stop taking your meds, see about changing to a differnt type.
