Hi, Ive had all sorts of pains in my legs over the last few years but whenever a new type of pain comes I wonder about it.
Can you tell me what your pain feels like? I mean like stabbing or dull ache.
This time in my legs it feels like pressure coming from somewhere, maybe thats not a good explination. Like a pressure up high starting around hips and the pain radiates down my legs, this time the pain is always with me, sitting down helps it, infact if im walking at walmart I almost have to sit down but the pain never goes away.
I have pain on a daily basis.Somedays are really bad.The pain is a deep pain all most coming from the bone. And then there's days its a dull ache.Resting does help but it's still there.Along with the constant leg pain comes muscle spasms that has resulted with spasticity.I take zanaflex, baclofen and vicidon. Some days thats not enough.Walking bothers me too.I keep going, hoping that building strength and endurance will help.
Pain in my pelvic area and legs is the first symptom that I experienced (3.5 years ago), however I don't have a diagnosis of anything yet.
Actually, mine is really bad right now and so I'm skipping classes today. My legs get stiff. Sometimes I feel little stabs, but usually it's just a general, over-all ache. I've had such a hard time explaining it in the past because it can change from time to time. I sometimes have these same feelings in other parts of my body (back and arms), and then I have "abnormal skin sensations". For example, my legs hurt really badly today (I don't really feel like using them) and my face, arms, and hands feel like they're burning.
On that note, I'm going back to bed .
Does it sort of feel like it comes around your hip and wraps around your upper leg, then down around your knee? It is hard to explain, but this is sort of how my "sciatica" feels. Of course, I've learned that there is nothing at all wrong with my lower spine and that it is MS-related, not "sciatica"! Sometimes it wakes me up at night, and walking (strolling is more painful than purposeful walking) is very painful at times.
my pain is 24/7 in my shoulders and hips it feels like someone is hitting me with a hammer ,, thump thump thump,, in my spine clear up and down it feels like someone is stabbing me and shocking me with a cattle prod, my joints hurt really bad too,,, my dr sent me to a pain specialist and he gave me something and said come back in 2 weeks,, it was supposed to work for 12 hours , but only lasted 6 to 8 hours,, he wanted me back in 2 weeks,, cause he said he wants my pain a 2 to 3 on a scale of 1-10,,, it was only down to about a 6 or 7,,, so he upposed the dosage and gave me something else to take as well when it starts to wear off,,, so i start the high dose of pills today,, and i pray that helps some more,, he says with the MS i will never be pain free but he wants me down to a 2 or 3 so i can still live with it,,, i have been at least an 8 and mostly a 15 on a scale of 1-10 and have just bit my tongue and lived with it but i am to the point i can;t take it anymore,, i never wanted to live on pain pills,, but i am to the point i have no choice,,, chronic pain blows!
Thanks! I know im not alone in what im feeling as that sums it up for me. I hate pain as all of us do.I know im not alone but sorry you guys have to feel this stuff also. I dont have a doctor right now, no insurence so I cannot even get medician for pain. I was taking vicodene for awhile when the clinic was seeing me but they are short term help and not neoros by any means but the vicoden did help me. Advil, motrin ect does not help me at all so most days I just cannot function. If I had medician to atleast dull the pain I think I could atleast carry on with my day in some sort of normal manner, or atleast it would help. Since I cannot work anymore ( due to so many missed days and the extreme fatigue) maybe I will have more time to look for a doctor who will work on a sliding scale or something.
Maybe staying off my feet more will help? or should I try to force self to keep moving and maybe build more muscle will help?
Too funny that you should mention "Wal-Mart"! I just posted a note on another thread explaining how the place just wears me out. My psychologist friend said that many of his patients claim the same thing.
Anyway, my pain is a "burning" sensation that occurs most frequently on my R calf. Sometimes it runs from my hip down to my toes.
Always on the anterior (outside) of the hip, leg, and foot. Never ever on the left side or on the interior of my leg.
When I am extremely exhausted, it is not really a pain, but more like my legs are attached to a string on a puppet and they feel completely detached from my body.
