Neru visit, need new MRI - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

My neru wants a new MRI of my head done, no diagnosis yet. First one was done approx. two years ago. I described my sypmtoms to him, dizziness/vertigo, fatigue, intolerance to heat, muscle aches, muscle twitching. I think he sensed I was depressed because of the duration of these sypmtoms so he recommended Zoloft. I took my first pill last night and I feel terrible today. It seemed to magnify my symptoms, not sure if I will continue. Anyone else use Zoloft?

Skipper...he may also have given that to you to help control pain so you can rest. You might try asking him about Amitriptyline. I used it for a few months when I had pain...it was a tremendous help with no discernable side effects.

I have not taken Zoloft, but have taken other SSRIs including Effexor which I am on now. They all take 1-2 weeks to get used to. Side effects usually go away by that time, so, you should call your doctor, but maybe stick it out.

Skipper.. At one time I was on Zoloft,and my experience was an initial period of "not feeling well"-- Which for me lasted about 10 days. Then I felt much better. I hope it helps .

I'm not sure, I barely got through the day at work today. Do you think it's possible that my doctor may have seen something on my first MRI to lead him to order a new one? I didn't even ask him whether it could be MS, just relayed all my symptoms to him.
