I was just wondering if stomach pains and heartburn are common with ms? Today when I woke up I had this burning pain that would come and go in my lower abdomen.. Then as the day went on it just felt like heartburn and I had this wierd metal taste in my mouth.... I felt like this before when i was taking a certain antibiotic..... but I havent taken any medicine in quite some time. Also I keep reading about vision problems.. I havent experienced any except for dryness which I've had for several yrs now and use a perscription to increase the tears....can you have ms and your eyes not be affected?
some people with MS never experience visual problems. as far as the stomach things, MS can definitely create intestinal problems. i sometimes have that issue. i treat it with a traditional chinese medicine herbal formula that works wanders.
What kind of intestinal problems do people with MS experience?? That is very interesting, because for the last year when all this started with me I have been dealing with intestinal problems but never told the doc. I didnt think they were related.
I get heart burn really bad, the doc gave me some meds that help it is called Aciphex, it does take about 15 min. to start but it takes the acid away. I also get weird stomach pains, it feels like mucle spasms in my stomach. Oh the joy!
Thank God someone else knows what I have going thru. I started with the stomach spasms about 3 years ago. The pain got so bad that I went to the ER. They done an MRI and the results showed nothing abnormal except small Galstones. My doctor just dismissed it after he done a blood work up on me and said it was just a pulled muscle because of my job. The indigestions just about kills me and nothing seems to work. I have another appointment with my PCP and we are going to have a long talk. I don't care how long I worked with him, but he is going to listen this time. I love the man, but something has got to give. His partner is the one that finally took my other symptoms seriously and dx'd possible MS. My MRI of the brain was "normal". The optho said it was definitly MS because of the optic neuritis. He said that the absence of lessions doesn't mean that you don't have it. I go back next week for the VEP. But, I don't see the neuro until the end of the month.
