Unhappy I have had just about enough....

I went to the doctor today, because I have bronchitis and a sinus infection. That was fine, got antibiotics to take care of that, then I told him that I will see the nuero in January, and was wondering if he could help with some of these crappy symptoms in the mean time. He looked through my list, saw the "blurry vision" on there and said..."I think we need to check your blood sugar". Okay, I haven't got a problem with that....he did the 3 month test, came back in the room and told me that I am borderline Diabetic!! I have Fibromyalsia, arthritis, asthma, depression, (can't imagine why) and allergies, I am being tested for MS, and now I am diabetic?? He changed my meds for my migraines, gave me a muscle relaxer for my spasms, and the charlie horses and I have to go back in a couple months to be retested for the sugar levels to see if I need meds for that too. In the last 3 years, I have lost both my parents to cancer, my aunt to MS, and my sister-in-law to suicide, I also have an 8 year old with Autism. So, I am just wondering....when is enough....enough?? If this is some sort of grand test that "God" is putting me through...when will I get a break.....because I honestly don't think I can take much more. Guess I am having a pity party for myself, but I am just so tired of it all. Thanks in advance for listening.

Re: I have had just about enough....

I am very familar with your feelings. I have been there many times, when i thought I couldn't take anymore... I am a juvenile diabetic (since I was 9) then the MS diagnosis came when I was 24. For the past 5 years I've caregiven (along with my father) my mother who has heart failure and almost died (several times) from stage four lymphoma. I used to spend alot of time thinking, no one else has to deal with this crap, why do I? I've stopped asking that question because there's no answer for it. Bad things happen to good people. Your diabetes diagnosis is not the end of the things, but it is another "thing." Life is nothing but problem solving, no matter who you are. You will problem solve through this. I hope that you start to feel better very soon...

Re: I have had just about enough....

Hi, I don't have the same problems as you,but can understand how you are feeling. I having been suffering for many years, but only started to put things together, 3 or 4 yrs ago, that I might have MS, have been seeing a Doc for many years and he treats me like, poor thing just give her a pat on the back and she will go away, he ignores all my symptom, even obivous ones like footdrop and drunk walk, tell me my nervous and musclular systems have had it but can;t tell me why. He told me in the past Sermans which I got as ateenager and should not bother me as an adult, fibro, and gives me natural injections to cheer me up, even when he can see I'm in agony. Wen to him yesterday as have major female problem and he did not even examine me, just said better get a scan, which I findout I have to pay for Even though he knows I've had operation to remove cancer cells, serveral large cyst on overies, etc, make you feel like your just something to treat how ever a Doc wants. Had to find another Doc who straight away said MS, but she is now seriously ill, so don't know who to go to. Did see a Neuro who acted like I was there for his amusement, and just laugh at me. All at the same time as my brother became very ill, nearly lost my teenage Son, through serious assult, because someone decided that they liked his clothes. He was a priority one in hospital, he hung in there and came thru. Now my daughter has a serious autoimmune disease, which is rear, and I care for her every day with know help from anyone. I feel and have felt at breaking point.
This board has helped me so much, so keep you chin up and remember there is always someone here to listen and say they understand how you are feeling. Takecare

Re: I have had just about enough....

You have been through alot. But have handled everything to this point. You are a very strong person I would of cracked long time ago.Borderline diabeties is treatable,it's good that your Dr, has caught it in its early stage.
Your GP is on top of things many GP's just disregard or ignore many symptoms and send them on there way.Hopefully the meds will calm down the muscle spasms.January is a way off hang in there, your doing an awesome job with everything. You'll get alot of support here.Keep venting it does the body good.

Re: I have had just about enough....

Thanks all for the kind comments. I really appreciate it. I guess that the last few years are just starting to wear on me. I took my new meds last night for the first time, and I actually got some sleep! Sleep is just another of those things I goof up, I have sleep apnea, I have to use a CPAP every night, because according to the sleep study I stop breathing about 110 times every hour for more than 10 seconds each time. Doc said it is equal to not breathing for 20 minutes out of every hour. (My oxygen sat. levels were 85% during the test, then they put on the CPAP, and they went up to 98%) The CPAP machine helps a lot though, and I use it religously.
That muscle relaxer that the doc put me on worked too, it was the first time in months that I didn't lay in bed and watch myself twitch and get charlie horses! YES!! One for my team! I hope it is as effective every night. I am supposed to take it 3 times daily, but it makes me loopy and I can't be loopy and take care of my son.....you know how that is, same reason I have to be careful with pain killers, have to be alert for my son. With his Autism, he is like having a 3 year old that gets into everything, only he is in the body of an 8 year old and he is strong, and he can reach everything! He has to be watched every second, or he could seriously hurt himself. That is a whole other board right there! LOL He is a good boy, and he can't help it, I wish I could do more for him. Thanks everyone, you have helped a lot, and I have been haunting this board a lot lately, trying to figure out what to do, and how to go about the doctor visits, and I have seen a lot of good advise here, I do appreciate all of you you very much. :-)
