optic neuritis always present in MS? - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

I do not have optic neuritis (sp?) but I do have double vison because of convergnce insufficency and gaze convergence palsy. My eye doc thinks no MS because I do not have optic neuritis. But the neuro wants to rule out demyelinating disease. So I am confused....

Does MS alwasy present with/have as symptom optic neuritis? I have other sensory issues also like numbnes and tingling in an arm etc... thanks for any input.

Not everyone that has MS ,developes optical neuritis.

Many have had it,Its good that your DR wants to rule it out.

MS can cause double vision and INO.

INO is a form of nystagmus called internuclear opthalmoplegia.

when this type of nystagmus is seen it's usually seen in MS patients.

It was discovered when I went to an ENT to have some evoked test done on my hearing.
