Red face What could it be?

I am 29 year old female and I'm currently seeing up to four doctors in Vanderbilt.
First I went to my normal doctor complaining of headaches and then seizures started being present. He had me have an mri done on my brain and he told me that it showed that I had changes in brain matter and something about ms. He seemed that it was important that I take my mri to vanderbilt to my neuroligist at vanderbilt that I see for my migraines. When I arrived she acted like it was stupid to even talk about ms, because changing of brain matter could mean anything. When I told her about my seizures, she recommended me to a seizure specialist there. I seen him and he thought my problems were right frontal lobe seizures. I did a 6 day video monitoring with an eeg and they said that since nothing showed up that it could be stress. He sent me to a Psyco-stomatic doctor that made sure I was off all my anti-cunvusant meds and said with his diet and meds (klonipin, adderall, and adivan( for when I have a seizure) that I should be better in 4-6 wks. In the meantime my seizure specialist had me go to a psychiatric hosptial for a test that took 5 hours. That doctor said that I was average in intelligence but my motor skills and concentration were poor and failing. He suggested that I see my seizure specialist again because he thought something was going on with the right side of my head. I am frustrated because my episodes(seizures?) have gotten a lot worse and my balance is horrible. I fall a lot and my eyes hurt a lot and sometimes they roll in different directions.
If anyone can help me figure out what to do next, it would be great.

Re: What could it be?

Wow - I'm not sure what advice I could give. You have so many doctors giving you conflicting advice. I'm not familiar enough with all the symptoms of MS to say whether MS can cause seizures but I will say when reading the symptoms that people discuss here and what I see when I do my own research, seizures don't seem to be a common complaint of MS. Did the MRI show lesions? Lesions in specific parts of the brain can indicate MS but not all people with MS have lesions. It's a very tricky, difficult to diagnose disease. To rule out MS completely, you'll need to have more tests done so maybe that could be your first step. The three main tests are: MRI of brain and spine with contrast, Lumbar Puncture and Evoked Potential testing. Unfortunately, it seems every neuro has their own opinion of which test is more important and most won't even bother with the LP or the Evoked Potential testing unless you show lesions on the brain or spine. I wish I could be more help.

Re: What could it be?

Thank you for your input. The MRI I had at home said that there were changes of brain matter. I can't remember if it said anything about lesions. My doctor at home said that I needed to go to Vanderbilt and show them my MRI to rule out MS. When I went there my neurologist seemed outraged that They thought I might have MS and didn't want to look at the MRI. WHen she came back from looking at it she seemed frazzeled and said that changes in brain matter and lesions could be anything. That even headaches cause them. She asked if I brought the report and I didn't because I thought all she would need is the disc. She then referred me to an epilipsy specialst.
