Copaxone again.

I decided to continue with the injections afterall, but I was off of them for almost a month. I got the same "good feelings" right after I started taking them again, so even though it's not a documented side effect, my brain seems to like it...!!

BUT. These site reactions are really awful! Each site gets lumpy and red and hot and takes a full 6 days to calm down -- just in time for the next shot at that site! Grr. I've called Shared Solutions numerous times and they tell me to heat the site 5 minutes before, apply pressure for a full minute before icing it after. It's the same no matter what I do!!

ANY IDEAS?! I tell you, the sore spots here and there all the time are making it really hard.

Re: Copaxone again.

I take it out the night before when I can or at least an hour before I plan to do the shot, per the advice of the Shared Solutions nurse...

Re: Copaxone again.

Hi Lisa. I am in the same boat as you. I wish I had some answers, but I don't. The injection site reactions are horrible. Sometimes they hurt so bad I am in tears. Of course that never starts til the next day. But it feels like someone lit a match under my skin. I don't even want clothing to touch it. Been on Cop. for 5 years now. Between the reactions and the scar tissue, I am thinking of talking with my doctor and taking a break. Although I am curious as to whether or not scar tissue ever truly heals.

Anyway, I know how you feel. I have tried shared solutions as well, but not much help.

Hang in there!!

Amy

Re: Copaxone again.

Truly, I'm thinking of getting my doctor to put me on Avonex again. I HATED having the flu almost every week, but it would be OVER within a couple of days and sometimes it didn't "hit," so... THIS is a continuous cycle of arms, legs, etc... The only one that doesn't get achy is the one in my abdomen. They all leave the red stain and swelling, though...
