Just thought Id throw in my 2 cents. I too, have never been much of a drinker, but have noticed that one glass of wine now puts me under the table, and increases my already really bad balance issues. At my last doctors visit, I inquired about it (MS SPecialist) and he told me that more than half of his patients have told him the same thing within the first year or two of being dx. He wasnt sure if the Rebif I take (and have taken for 8 months) might be contributing to this, or if it is simply MS. I called the manufacturer of Rebif, who says that you shouldnt drink excessively on the drug; however one glass of wine or drink a week, shouldnt affect me. Well, it does, so it must be the MS!!

As for the heat sensitivity, first of all, almost all MSers have it..my dx came from my diziness in the shower and in the summer months; however I too, have noticed that at times, my heat sensitivity also includes feeling like I am scalding myself under water, which my husband holds his wrist under- to prove to me its not hot. Its gotten so bad that the other night I rinsed spahetti under cold water, (it felt hot to me!) and I served company cold pasta...nice, huh?

The bug bits I cant help you with, although SC does have biting ants...I wouldnt totally write yourself off as crazy yet! You might very well have been having some nerve tingling which felt like bites, or you might really have been getting bit..either way, nothing suprises me with this disease anymore! Tongiht, my husband was massaging my calfs, because they felt so tight, what felt good one minute had me screaming in pain the next..and he was barely touching me..go figure.
Good luck and keep us posted on the alcohol issues...thats interesting, Id like to hear what another Neuro has to say.
