Msnik

I had read in one of your post that you don't use the auto-injector.

I have had terrible site reaction, these honkin red sites that are huge and painful.

So last night I searched the web and read the instruction on how to self inject.practiced on an orange.

I got brave,as needles scare the crap out of me,I iced my site, took a valium and a half, plus my baclofen,my tyelenol, waited until I was half sedated and I done it.i have no painful site today ,very minimal red mark.

But in the process of doing the self injection,I still scared the crap out of myself I wet my pants.Darn loose bladder.

I put an empty syringe in the auto injector and done it on the orange, with the force of that auto-injector 2 it made a holly mess out of that orange. No wonder I have nodules under the skin on the right side and huge site reactions.

I really don't think that the auto-injector is designed for thin people.

Re: Msnik

Hi Toni, sorry it took so long to get back to you. I have been having a really stressful day. I finally came upstairs to Get away from the 5 kids who are making a mess out of my house and left my husband to fend for himself...

So, im reading your post and I have to agree with you. I found that using the syringe, without the auto-inject is MUCH easier on the body as far as site injections go. I still use the autoinjector on the skin under my arm and sometimes even on my back area (above the butt, below the back). However, in my stomache and thigh- there is NOTHING to pinch. I cant use it...

Are you remembering, if you do NOT use the auto-injector to pinch a small area of skin before using the syringe? Like a half inch of skin should be pinched, then you insert the syringe, and as you inject yourself, release the pinched skin.....it helps the medicine to evenly distribute and not "bunch" up under the skin. This also helps to ensure that you are pinching flab, not muscle! Ever auto-inject into a muscle by accident? I have, it hursts like the dickens.... also, remember no matter what you do, auto or self injection, MASSAGE the area well for 2 minutes after the shot. Did you ever look into the Arnica I suggested? Its great to massage with...but no matter what, massaging it helps to prevent the red marks, too.

Sounds like you figured this out for yourself....how are you feeling overall? DId your neuro call back? And, why do you like this neuro soo much, you seem to have one heck of a time getting ahold of him when you need him. I hope youre hanging in there. IM thinking of hanging myself today...kidding, not really..but the last thing I wanted was his kids to bring 2 of their friends today, and no one bothered to tell me this was going on! I just want to go to bed and call it a day.
Hope you are feeling better.
Hugs,
Nikki

Re: Msnik

Nikki,

I have had my fullness of kids today, and they are my own. They are nothing but mouthy little bratts.

Its gonna be a long summer.its my 16 year old and 12 year old that constantly go at it.They always end up into an arguement after my 17 year old provokes them.

My 17 year old is an odd child to begin with and she thinks her points of veiw should superceed anything I say and she has a great influence over my 16 year old that it drives me nuts.

We had a full blown verbal dispute that wasn't pretty and my hubby always sides with the kids, which ****es me off. When I'm the parent I should have the final word not a kid.I'm just ready to take my dog and leave them all until they decide that they need my guidence and rules.

As far as the shots ,yes I have hit a muscle and it could of launched me through the roof.

Im in a relapse and I definatly will call my neuro's office evry hour on the hour tomorrow.I need my baclofen refilled by tuesday or I will go into seizures.

My vision in my right eye is starting to get real fuzzy, the other night down at my ma's I lost the vision completly, which freaked her out and she said are you okay,I just told her I was intermintenly loosing the vision in both eyes.heck she wanted to call an EMS.

The heat hasn't helped at all.

Re: Msnik

You poor baby. At least know you are NOT alone. Misery loves company, huh? IM still not sure relapse, or symtoms for me. I feel awful. Im constnatly overheated and sweating like a pig...my fingers, shins, and feet are killing me...some of this is new, all of this is more extreme then anything I ever felt before, and Im scared. I have an appt on Thurs morning to try to figure out what is going on. I have a feeling he is going to want me to go back on Steroids....do you think the injectable steroids which everyone is talking is worht a try?? IM thinking of asking him for it. That way, I can go tto work without dragging around the IV line...

You mentioned vision too. Im having issues with that as well. I can no longer see out of glasses- and Im not sure if it is simply a temporary thing, or if we are going that route too. My glasses prescription is only 3 months old. I should be able to see out of them, right? Ugh. Next on my list, the eye dr.

Kids are going to make it a long summer..mine are almost the same age. The one who lives with us will be 17 this summer. Her sister is going to be 12 next week and the youngest will be 8 at the end of the summer. Id gladly trade in the 8 year old for another 16 year old, anyday! Hes the only boy, and OH BOY is he ALL BOY. He showed up with one of the least well behaved kids I have ever met in my life on Saturday...never again. Ive had it already.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon. Please keep me posted.
N

Re: Msnik

Your right these kids are gonna make it a long summer and with the hot weather we have had its not gonna be good for any of us.

Finally rain today,it has cooled off some.

I have double vision so bad and seeing my kids in double ain't helping.

I just back from taking my future son in law to the GP.This DR was awesome with this kid.

He is slowly taking him off his pain meds Thank GOD.IT was 8 weeks ago today he rolled his truck.I didn't think it was possible to loose 70 pounds in 7 weeks but this kid did. He's been home a week and he's gained 4 pounds back.He has lost so much muscle mass.

I just got my new glasses a week ago and can't see crap,I think its the heat shutting down my system.
