Question Im Frustrated!

For the last year I have been suffering all kinds of problems. I ended up in the hospital after a cat scan showed I had a small stroke (TIA). I'm 35 years of age and have always been healthy and active. My doctors then were checking me for M.S. the tests have come back negative. Since then I have been suffering with horrible headaches now being diagnosed as migraines. I am off balance clumsy, fatigued, my feet feel like bricks and I'm having problems with my eyesight. I have nausea episodes, and tingling sensations on my face and arms. I also get very shaky having tremors. My fingers twitch on there own and when I sleep my partner tells me either my legs, arms or jaw is seizing. My doctor even noticed one of my pupils being more sluggish than the other one. I have been checked for epilepsy and no that's not it. I recently had a MRI on my back and it showed a couple protruding discs. I don't know what to do anymore I'm so tired of feeling this way, my doctor even told me she doesn't know what to do anymore. I have seen a neurologist and he is leaning toward M.S. but he doesn't want to start treating me until they have a positive test. I am in desperate need of help and being in pain and feeling the way I do is just to much sometimes this has been going on for a year now. I dont know if this is relevant but about 15 years ago I was on a airplane and I blacked out. When I came to, the plane was making an emergency landing and the E.M.T put me in a wheelchair. I told them that I was fine, when I stood up and tried to take a step I almost fell flat on my face. Thank goodness they caught me about an inch before a face plant, I had lost mobility in my legs. When I got to the hospital they said I had a (TIA). I gained mobility back in my legs a few hours later. When I told my doctor that story she just shrugged it off, I just don't know what to do any more can somebody please help?

Re: Im Frustrated!

First off, find yourself a new doctor. If she's shrugging off fainting spells, maybe she isn't the right one for you.

What kind of tests have they done for MS? You should have had a MRI of the brain and spine, with and without contrast. Lumbar Puncture, Evoked potential testing, bloodwork, balance and reflex testing.

Unfortunately, with MS because so many of the symptoms mimic other things it's hard to diagnose. You don't have to be positive on every test though. I was diagnosed with a positive LP, one attack, and nonactive brain lesions.

Re: Im Frustrated!

I had an MRI of the brain & spine and the spine showed disc problems. Blood test came out negative. Had an inner ear test done & they said I have an inner ear problem. But they said no big deal. I had a spinal tap done last Sept and that came out fine. Im having an EMG done in Sept. That is the earliest they can get me in. I have not had a EPT yet. I just recently found out about this test. I never had a root canal done. I havent had any fillings since I was 12. I seem to have alot of MS symptoms, very much affected by the heat etc. Although my symptoms have changed some since last August when I had a few what seemed to be small strokes. My neurologist seems to think I might have MS but will not start treating me until some plaque or lesions show up. I am so frustrated.

The fillings that you had at age 12, do you still have them? How many do you have if you have any?
