| Re: Anyone dxd with MS have silver amalgam fillings?
I and my father both have MS, and we both have "silver" fillings. I had a lot of them, and recently had most of them replaced with composites.
If you do this, please request supplemental air or oxygen from your doctor! It will fit over your nose. A filter mask is completely useless for this purpose. Mercury vapor is released when the drill tip hits the filling, and that is the most dangerous type of mercury. If you inhale it, it will be absorbed immediately. Some dentists will actually use air masks themselves, because it's dangerous to them too. They may charge you an extra fee for oxygen (shouldn't be much more than $100). Also, request to rinse after the dentist has done his own rinse of your mouth... you may find it difficult to rinse with your mouth partially numbed, but you can rinse out very tiny particles of the old fillings.
I see the mercury vs. MS issue this way: they do have similar symptoms, and so at the very least they will have additive effect. I may not improve my MS by removing the mercury amalgam fillings, but I may improve my symptoms. Some of them may be coming from the mercury.
