a blessing in disguise?? (giggle giggle)

Hey all....I just had to share this with you~ I did another shot by myself tonight! This time, without the auto-injector and in my butt!

Even though hubby was totally prepared to do this tonight (as if he would have even thought of saying no again) I DID IT in front of him without help! Made me feel powerful, having him see that I didnt need his help!

Just had to share this silly monumentous occasion with my virtual family!
Hugs,
Nikki

Nikki,

You go girl,

I've never injected my hiney,I don't think I'd have enough cordinations.

You are doing a great job with self injecting.

I bet your hubby is walking a nice little tight rope and kissing butt.

Re: a blessing in disguise?? (giggle giggle)

Hey Nuffs.
How ya feeling today? Hes not kissing any hiney at this point..in his stubborn world, "Im sorry" is as good as it gets...however, he did volunteer to pick up dinner tomororow night, knowing its my worst day of the week as far as my job goes....which was "thoughtful" and reminiscent of "old times"!

This was the first time I did inject without the autoinjector into that part of my anatomy..it wasnt bad at all. In fact, it might be the only part of me that has enough meat to actually grasp! The fact that it was on my right cheek, and Im right handed (youll have to actually pinch your own to see what I mean) gave me the dexterity to do this...if it was on the left side, forget it! I held the syringe like a pencil and jammed! Surprised me how easily it happened! Now, if only my stomache and thigh didnt hurt so bad...but its coming- Im ready to try again!

Hope you are having easier days yourself these days...
Hugs,
Nik

Re: a blessing in disguise?? (giggle giggle)

Nikki,

I honestly don't think I could inject my hiney,I have to sit on that part.

I'm doing,I think my therapist tried to off me today.Darn she worked my hiney off(another reason not inject there).I was so fatigued I didn't think I was gonna be able to drive home.
Some of the things I couldn't do with my right leg and she got a little grumpy with me.It wasn't for the lack of trying. And I ain't getting on no tread mill with out hanging on,sorry but stable mable I'm not.I'm not gonna be splattered against the wall behind me(now thats a visual).

I've gained weight, which is a good thing, the steroids and not smoking(its been 18 days)And I have ate everything in sight. My son called me a fat butt when I stepped on the scales at the fitness center it said 118.I was happy, but I had my shoes on and the leg braces. So tommorrow I'm gonna take my shoes off.

Thats nice that your hubby is willing to pick up dinner, are things getting back to somewhat normal or as normal as they can be?

You keep injecting and you'll be a pro.I hate that I have to talk myself into it.But I'm getting past that.

It's time for my night time meds, need to eat before I take them,God I feel like a pig.My goal is to get past these spasms and off half of these meds.I have to the 30th and its good bye steroids and glucophage. Then I'm hoping to taper off the spasm meds.I hate the quinine,it adds to my ears ringing.

Oh,I was so angry with my son today,he brought home his friend that has bronchitis,if I get it after being on all these steroids,oh I'll be so mad.He knows his sick friends are not welcome cause I don't want it.

you go for it. it is very empowering to know that you can still care for yourself and that you can take on and do something that you didnt think you could do.
