Talking memory test

Hi there all,

I having a lousy time with my memory. I will forget what i'm about to say while in the middle of a sentence. Forget what i ate for dinner last night without thinking about it so hard. Can't blame it all on stress can I ??
I know alot of people complain about short term memory, but i do know its getting worse. I'm now keeping a diary of all important notes.
I'm going to see a O.T tomorow, she has booked me in for a memory test.
Has anyone had this before ??
What do i expect ??

Thanxs..

Re: memory test

I have an excellent memory. People rely on me for phone numbers, addresses, dates. I had a memory test and did very poorly on it. I think the one good thing about it is that it helped me get my SSDI the first time.
Take the test, you can get good info from it but do not believe all the results.
As far as what to expect - a lot of word association and remembering stories that they tell you. I have chosen to expend my energy on things that are important so maybe that is why I did so poorly.

Re: memory test

Hi guys,

Had the memory test today after my Physio. It took about half hr.
Moore, you were right on. She showed me cards with photos, pictures and i had to remember what were in the pack and names of people. Story was included as well. I had to remember key notes on that one.
Hmmm... didn't do so well, but i wasn't expecting great results anyway. My score was 16/24 . Not suprised . She has bookes me into another specialist next week for a more detailed test, will see how that one goes.

In the meantime, I just keep a diary with me at all times, for special appontments and errands i need to do.
