Strange sensation in eye - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

Hi,

I was lying in bed this morning and when I yawned, I had pain/pressure behind my left eye and then a burning sensation in my eye (some tearing because my eye burns). The pain went away, but my eye still feels "full/swollen" inside and burns.

Has anyone else had anything like this?

it may be a mild case of optic neuritis... that's usually the way mine starts... if the pain persists, I would make an appointment with an opthamologist.

Lynn, I've never heard of "burning" with ON but we're all so different! If your pain gets any worse, especially with movement, OR you begin to notice visual changes at all, try to go see a neuro-ophthalmologist immediately! The blurriness often take a while to set in and so does the color loss -- I didn't even know I HAD color loss until my eye doctor picked up a bottle with a brightly colored orange cap and had me look at it one eye at a time.
