i need help on some questions with MS - Multiple Sclerosis Message Board

Hello, after running a few tests i came out negative for MS. I was wondering if it were possible to test positive after testing negative for MS. It's a touchy subject because my aunt has MS and it worries me because i had many symtoms of it.

Please.. somebody get back to me on this subject.

Hi, MissKikxzYO. You should let us know what type of doctor (or doctors) you've seen, what tests were administered and what your symptoms are.

Specifically in terms of a normal MRI, the disease causes lesions, not the other way around so yes, it is possible for nothing to show immediately.

If you give us more info. it would be helpful.

I think because MS is so difficult to diagnose that it's very well possible you were as well. Not to say you have MS, I couldn't possibly know but 2nd opinions are there for a reason. If it was a neuro who ruled out MS to begin with then it couldn't hurt to see another neuro, one who specializes in MS. If you get another negative result then you're probably in the clear.

Definitely get a second opinion!! I had had symptoms for about 5 years before a Dentist and a Neuro finally put everything today. They treated every sympton seperately. Get a good doc who will take the time to look at everything, and just stay in touch with them. I know I can call my doc, and 98% of the time, he calls me right back, so I have no complaints with him.

Just keep in good spirits, always look at the bright side of things, and stay on top of things.

thank you so much for your reply on my questions. I have been losing feeling in my hands and from my waist down.. real bad back pains.. horrible headaches =/ depression.. anxiety.. i get very dizzy and light headed at times. I lose my balance out of no where.. my eye sight has been getting blurry.. i also get wierd sensations in my hands, back, and legs.. one of my doctors told me i have muscle spasms all in my back.. i constantly get pain in my ribs.. chest pains.. loss of breath and my hands shake for no reason. I find this all so hard to deal with because i'm only sixteen. First thing on monday im calling the specialist that deals with my aunt and her MS. Im going to get all sorts of test done. The pain is unbearable and is causing so much stress. But i know i have to try and think the best of all that going on. Once again.. thank you for your help.
