Hey Vic. Lisa is right, it does sound like a panic attack...but it could be something else as well. There are other tests, on your ears which should probably be done, just to rule out that anything medically is wrong. Again, seeing an MS doc will help, in the meantime, seeing an ENT is a possiblity? If you can...you might want to get your inner ear checked and anything else that they might be able to rule out.
Panic attacks and anxiety attacks hit me, too. They havent in quite a while, but they do strike..and yes, stress is usually the trigger. You and I both work fulltime, and it sounds like we have similar responsiblity at our jobs. The differeence is Im alone 99% of the time- just seeing people when I go to accounts, where you have people around. Its important to realize how you are going to deal with that. When you feel awful, you have to balance between knowing its time to get away and go outside, (to your car, to a quiet conference room, wherever it is you can go) or when to just buck up and fight your way thru it. Dont let your job get in jeapordy over this. If you cant work, it will only add to your stress levels and your feelings of "what if". Be careful whom you trust with this info, but if you do have one trusted person on the job, confide in them so that they can watch out for you, should you need medical attention or should you just need someone to cover your butt for a few hours. Know what I mean?
I think this is all one big clue to whatever is going on with you....until you can get some more tests run, you are going to have to be really brave and just keep venting here like you have been. At least you know you are NOT alone and others, including myself, have experienced what you are describing...makes it just alittle easier to deal with, doesnt it?
Big hugs, have a relaxing weekend, ok?
Nikki
