| Re: how long does it take for the ivig to start working?
Lisa, IVIG stands for intervenous immunoglobin. Its a plasma (blood) replacement therapy that specifically targets autoimmune issues. Its donor blood which is healthy and clean administered to MS patients and other patients with autoimmune disorders in order to maintain healthy antibody levels and protect against infection. Its also given to Kidney Transplant patients. I know this from reading up on it. Its terribly expensive, not many insurances will cover it and still not really used regularly for MSers; however the idea of it is catching on and IM reading more and more success stories about it.
To all of you using it, best of luck for success! Please let us know how it works out for you.
